Basement Windows

Windows can make your basement more aesthetically pleasing and boost safety. Large basement windows, sometimes known as "egress windows," from Pella of Fargo are created to let more light into underground spaces than the older, smaller, rectangular windows that are put above ground. They also give you a way to get out in case of an emergency.

The biggest differentiator between basement, or egress, windows and standard windows is that basement windows must be large enough for an average-sized person to make it out in order to meet safety requirements outlined in building codes. You can choose from correctly sized casement, sliding or double-hung windows when you install basement windows. Make certain that you completely understand local building codes before your purchase of basement windows.
